The Electrician`s tasks and responsibilities are, but not limited to, following:

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance (including reporting) of electrical systems on the installation.
• Request electrical maintenance/ breakdown spares.
• Liaise with Chief Electrician regarding equipment repairs, maintenance and planning.
• Keep electrical files and drawings onboard updated.
• Be familiar with classification society rules and authorities’ regulations applicable to his/ her area of responsibility.
• Ensure that necessary safety precautions are taken prior to work on electrical systems.
• Collaborate with other disciplines in planning/ execution of equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained in his/ her areas of responsibility.
• Ensure that reporting procedures and routines are followed and that all paper work is handled timely and correctly.
• Keep maintenance records and prepare reports concerning electronic/ electrical installations.
• Ensure that orders and instructions given or received in writing or verbally are fully understood and adhered to.
• Ensure that safety routines are followed.
• Ensure that no electrical work that needs a “work permit” is started until proper investigation has been carried out and approvals have been given in writing.
• Promptly report all accidents, near-miss accidents and non-conformances through proper channels. React timely to all corrective action requests.
• Be familiar with all relevant work- and safety procedures issued by Company and by Operator, and promote implementation of same.
• Inform his/ her supervisor of any suggestions to make a safer working environment and a more efficient operation of the unit.
• Ensure that Work Permit and Safe-Job-Analysis systems are followed.

Suitable applicants should ideally have:

• Vocational training with trade certificate as Maritime electrician or similar
• Experience from position
• Fit to work offshore
• Basic Safety Training
• NOG Maritime Module - EL6039
• ETR - Electro-technical rating
• Offshore Medical Certificate
• Trade Certificate Electrician
• Chemical Handling - basic knowledge
• Ex Basic (rep. 5y by web)
• FSE Offshore high-and low voltage
• FSE Practical first aid
• High Voltage Course
• Scaffolding user course
• ISPS Designated Security Duties
