We are looking for a Category Manager!
The Global Sourcing and Procurement Indirect Team enhance business performance by providing effective and innovative end-to-end sourcing and procurement solutions. Through our category management structure and early phase engagement, we apply local, regional and global strategies. The Regional Category Manager holds a pivotal role, engaging with, and defining the strategic priorities for, key stakeholders in the region, whilst aligning and supporting global strategy implementation. The categories covered by this role are IT, incorporating software, hardware and solutions services, Travel, air, hotels, car hire and expenses, and Professional Services, a diverse category covering contracted personnel, consultancy services, insurance and benefits and mobility among others.Job Description
The purpose of the Regional Category Manager is to co-author Regional Category Strategies along with Sr. Category Managers and Indirect Regional Procurement Managers. She/he executes a Regional Category Strategy that is fully aligned with global category directives and develops and implements regional and local category strategies that are particular to the Region.
A Global Category Strategy will have elements that are regionally focused as well as elements that are global and benefit beyond one region. Regional and Local Category Strategies will primarily be focused on the requirements unique to the location and countries identified as part of the region where the category manager resides.
The RCM leads regional Sourcing and Supplier Management plans to deliver planned results in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost as part of the Global Category Strategy.
The RCM is responsible for scoping and managing the supply base in the region to achieve the goals set by the strategy.
The role acts as a link between the Sr. Category Manager, Category Manager and the Region to ensure alignment to Category Strategy by identifying the business needs of the region and making sure such needs are considered as part of the strategy. At the same time the RCM is responsible for Regional stakeholder management to ensure that the agreed strategies are implemented flawlessly.
The RCM ensures compliance to strategy by developing a proper communication plan, securing stakeholder engagement, identifying areas of risk and associated mitigation, while developing plans to successfully execute the strategy.
The role takes direction from the Indirect Regional Procurement Manager and the Sr. Category Manager to execute assigned work. Must use sound planning and good judgment to manage resources and meet goals. Must have ability to make sound business decisions based on data and analysis. Must be able to provide guidance and motivation to teams and build effective relationships with peers.
The job location can be based in any site across UK and Norway, travel between sites will be required.You are meant for this job if:
  • You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Engineering. Formal education can be replaced by long term successful work experience.
  • Candidate will typically have 8+ years experience in field and at least 5 years supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Industry knowledge from the Oil and Gas equipment and services area is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate ability to develop, improve and implement processes, policies and procedures that impacts the function.
  • Must also demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and develop strategic implementation plans for new concepts and ideas as required by senior leaders and business objectives.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in predominant Regional Language as well as in English
