The Embassy of Belgium in Oslo is seeking to recruit a Housekeeper at the Residence of the Belgian Ambassador. The Embassy is Belgium's diplomatic representation to Norway and Iceland. The Residence serves as the home of the Belgian Ambassador in Oslo and hosts official functions.
You will contribute to good running of the Residence through a variety of support tasks. Your role will primarily include housekeeping, such as cleaning and laundry service. You will also be expected to take on front-of-house duties such as receiving and waiting on guests.
We are looking for someone who is service-minded, dependable and displays a positive work attitude. A willingness to roll up your sleeves to deal with different situations is key. The successful candidate will present well, both in manner and dress.
Starting date is as soon as possible.

We offer a varied job in an attractive work setting, as well as the following benefits:
· A full-time contract (37,5 hours per week) will be offered at a starting salary of NOK 31.231,07 (gross monthly remuneration). Relevant experience can be taken into account in determining pay scale.
· An initial contract of one year will be offered to the successful candidate, subsequently convertible to a contract of indefinite duration.
· An annual holiday entitlement of 26 days, in addition to 14 public holidays including the period between Christmas and New Year.
The Residence is located in the neighbourhood of Frogner in Oslo and is easily accessible by public transport.
Main roles:
· Your main role will be to ensure the cleanliness of the Residence which should meet high standards. This will encompass the cleaning of rooms and other housekeeping duties in order for the Residence and its contents to be well-maintained and organised. Laundry service including ironing will also be part of your tasks.
· You will also contribute to the smooth operation of receptions/lunches/dinners and other events. You will be asked to welcome guests, serve meals and drinks, and assist in setting up for functions. You will assist in the management and replenishing of stocks, and the running of errands. You may be asked to contribute to the preparation of meals.
· Your position will require a certain flexibility in terms of working days/hours to accommodate for official functions taking place at the Residence. In general however your working week would follow standard working hours and run from Monday to Friday (non-standard hours would be compensated by time off).

· You show integrity and discretion in carrying out your tasks.
· You are flexible[2], reliable and able to take responsibility for the quality of your work.
· You are able to communicate effectively as well as to organise your own work.
Technical skills and knowledge:
· Good knowledge of English. Knowledge of Norwegian is a plus.
· Good knowledge of cleaning techniques. Must be able to iron.
· Cooking experience is a plus.
· Willingness to commit to a long-term contract.
Education and experience:
· Relevant experience in a similar position, or a background in hospitality, is a plus.
· A valid driving licence would be a plus.
· No degree is required.
