Tour guide/Hurtigruten guide at Lofotr Viking Museum

The Lofotr Viking Museum in Lofoten is seeking enthusiastic tour guides for the Viking feast excursions to the museum. Make the experience of attending a Viking feast with the Chieftain and the Lady of the House at Borg memorable for the Hurtigruten (The Norwegian Coastal Express) guests.

• Language: fluent in German and English

Desired competence

• Several languages (Norwegian and preferably French, Spanish, Italian and Finnish)

• Knowledge and interest in the Viking Age, archaeology and history

• Experience from similar business

Arbeidsoppgaver

Your job is to guide tours for the Hurtigruten (The Norwegian Coastal Express) guests who get off the ship in Stamsund and join the Viking feast with the Chieftain and the Lady of the House at Borg. After the Viking dinner the guide will accompany the guests to Svolvær, where they will board the Hurtigruten boat again.

Central work tasks

• Reception of the public

• Guiding groups

• Help with serving the Viking dinner in the Chieftain's house

• Coordinating the coastal ship guests from arrival in Stamsund to departure from Svolvær

It's preferable if the job as tour guide is considered as an extra employment. This kind of employment is better suitable for example for students or people who have another job.
