Psychiatric Center Fekjær in Norway

The 24-hour PHV unit treats patients aged 18-35 with severe psychiatric disorders, sometimes combined with addiction. The 24-hour TSB unit treats patients aged 18-26 with both an addiction disorder and a mental disorder. Fekjær offers active therapeutic treatment in beautiful surroundings, focusing on daily routines that include practical daily tasks, contact with animals, and outdoor activities.

The treatment is based on a psychodynamic understanding with relational inspiration and utilizes an eclectic treatment model that incorporates various approaches for individual issues. The institution has a psychodynamic base, emphasizing relational corrective experiences in a therapeutic context. The units are organized multidisciplinary, with a holistic view on both the individual and group processes.

The therapists actively participate in activities, training in new coping strategies and outdoor activities. Fekjær hosts students from various universities and colleges and is part of the National Network for Personality Disorders. Professional development for all our staff is crucial, and we encourage further education in mental health care, as well as specialization for our psychologists and physicians.

Fekjær has a wide range of disciplines on staff, including psychiatrists, specialists, psychologists, nurses, movement therapists, social workers. Most have advanced training in mental health care and relevant additional qualifications. We also have support staff interested in mental health care.

We are looking for a psychologist-specialist (clinical psychology or addiction care) who enjoys challenges and complexity, and has a passion for interdisciplinary relational work with a diverse patient population. We seek someone who believes that psychotherapy and environmental therapy go hand in hand and is curious about interactions and relational processes. Experience with or interest in interdisciplinary collaboration is desirable.

As our new colleague, you will be part of the treatment team, with the opportunity to work in various units and with different patient groups. You will contribute to research and treatment of complex mental health conditions within interdisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will participate in competency enhancement, professional development, and, if needed, mentor other professional groups within our organization. For specialists, this includes supervising psychologists within our organization.
