Backend Developer

Sunday Power’s mission is to accelerate the energy transition with smart renewable energy. Our ambition is to be the world’s most efficient company in originating, deploying, and operating solar PV assets and other renewable solutions for commercial real estate. We’re using this position to build great software that solves real needs and offer it as a stand-alone product.

We are a small but dedicated team (currently 15 people) working out of our brand-new offices in central downtown Oslo. We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved so far:

• We have signed and deployed more than 70 large scale solar plants across Norway

• Raised more than 100MNOK of capital

• Top Finalist European Proptech Awards 2024

But this is just the beginning, and this is an exciting time to join us as we’re taking our company even further. In addition to an Backend Developer, we’re also looking for the following;

We’re looking for a Backend Developer

We’re looking to strengthen our tech team with another backend developer! We’ve built our own SaaS to manage and optimize solar assets, and we’re looking to scale it to more users and more markets. We also have our own cloud data platform, and we’re looking for more hands to develop it further.

As our new backend developer you’d work on

• backend software development for our SaaS and data platforms

• maintaining and adding new cloud infrastructure using AWS

To succeed, we believe you match the following

• 2+ years of experience with professional backend development in a systems language

• experience with, or willingness to learn and work in, F# (don’t worry, we can teach you!)

• team player with good communication skills

• You are based in Oslo, or willing to move here from the EU

Bonus points for experience with

• IoT, industrial, electrical or power market data

• working in startups

• a university degree

• related domain knowledge - solar, batteries, EV, power markets, proptech

 

What we’re building

Today our tech team consists of our CPO, CTO and four developers. We enjoy working together on building things that matter, using the technology we think makes most sense.

We deliver technology that accelerates the green transition. Sometimes that means identifying and buying the right thing, sometimes we build it ourselves. So far we’ve built

• SundayOS - our own SaaS-platform for monitoring and optimizing solar assets

• SundayBox - our very own IoT edge computer

• our very own data platform

We’ve built this using tech like

• AWS cloud platform

• F# for backend development

• Typescript (React, Node, TanStack, shadcn)

• Python, pandas, Databricks

The solar market is new, and rapidly evolving. We need to develop with, or ahead, of it - so there will be new things to build here for a long time!

We build technology both for ourselves to manage our own assets, but we also sell it to other companies. We think this is one of the thing that sets us apart from the competition, and ensures we deliver great tech that does what people need.
