The skills desirable of the incumbent are:

• Excellent understanding and knowledge of Norwegian language teaching particularly in an international school/IB/progressive educational context

• Experience of teaching and training in Grades 1-6 (Primary years)

• Excellent management and organisational skills

• Masters level degree (with teaching qualification through Norwegian PPU)

• IB experience (especially of PYP)

• Good teamwork, communication and collaborative skills

• Flexibility, enthusiasm and professionalism

• Understanding and experience of living and working in Nordic Europe

• The ability to offer other primary subjects, particularly PE, an advantage though not essential

Arbeidsoppgaver

The position involves teaching Norwegian, specifically across Grades 1-6 (Primary Years), and you will be responsible for teaching and learning of classes of up to 21 students. The position is for 100%.

The position will include the following areas of responsibility:

• Norwegian language teaching for PYP (Primary Years Grades 1-6)

• Curriculum planning including working with the IB and collaboration with class teachers

• Academic and pastoral care

• Team planning

• Assessment and monitoring of student progress

• Differentiation and adaptive learning for different levels of language
