Supply Teacher

About the job

BISS Sentrum has a vacancy for a supply teacher to deliver planned lessons during staff absences. The supply teacher will undertake all daily activities normally expected of a teacher in a primary or secondary school.

The supply teacher will be expected to work in both the Primary Department (IB Primary Years Programme) and the Secondary Department (IB Middle Years Programme), as required. The position is 0% supply, term-time only, and is temporary for the school year 2024/2025. The successful candidate will be available for work every Thursday and Friday 08:15 - 15:15, and as needed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students aged 6-16, either as a teacher or as a teaching assistant
• HKDir (NOKUT) approved teaching qualification for primary/secondary school is desirable
• Fluent English, written and spoken (minimum B2)
• Knowledge of Norwegian would be an advantage
• An interest in or understanding of the IB Programme is beneficial

• Ability to quickly pick up and deliver pre-planned lessons
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team

• Takes initiative and can effectively deal with change and unpredictability
