Svanett Ekornes daybed sovesofa

A superb original 1960s mid century modern daybed sofa by Ingmar Relling in its original fabric. Very rare to find these in their original fabric and this example is in very good condition, the blue/green geometric fabric is of its period and is well preserved. A petite two seater with a low back makes this a versatile piece which will fit in most spaces. The table is positioned on the left hand as you sit in it (right hand as you look at it), the table folds and converts quickly to a handy daybed. The seat also lifts to reveal a storage area for blankets or cushions.

Designed by Ingmar Relling and manufactured under model name ‘Svanette’ by Ekornes Svane of Norway.

The piece is in remarkable condition for its age, the teak and beech wood is in very good order with only a few age related scuffs, the seat fabric is also in very good condition, it has a few small snag holes at the back but these are underneath the two backrest cushions and only seen when they are lifted. The backrest cushions are in excellent condition. The piece has undergone a thorough workshop inspection and is clean, and ready for installation.
