Australian Mosaic Opal Triplet is a gemstone assembled from the individual fragments of Australian Opals and where the body tone has been darkened and the colour magnified with a Glass or Quartz Top. The astounding patches and seams of the Mosaic Opal Triplet show a dramatic play of colour. Opal is an October Birthstone and is also the stone given to celebrate the 14th Wedding Anniversary. The dramatic play-of-color has inspired writers to compare it to fireworks, galaxies and volcanoes. Bedouins once believed Opal held lightning and fell from the sky during thunderstorms.
