Gamel tysk fiolin, fullstendig restaurert

This is an anonymous German violin. From the construction style and the original state, I believe it was made around 1900 but can't be certain.

I restored it completely in France this spring before moving to Norway. I was helped by a professional luthier, who made the final bridge, soundpost and adjustments.

Here is what I made :

- re graduated the top plate (was too thick to vibrate properly)

- fixed corners on the top and inside.

- revarnished (normally a bad idea but here the back was not in a fixable state).

- planed fingerboard, smoothed neck

- fitted mechanical pegs (no more slipping pegs!)

- new tailpiece, tailgut, end button, chin rest.

- new quality bridge and soundpost

- new strings (Jarguar Evoke).
