Charming 2-bed gite on beautiful 2-acre site, sleeps 5, plus cots.

Ploërdut
L'Ecurie is our most recently renovated gite and sleeps 5 people, plus cots. It has a large, bright open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area with a beautifully restored fireplace and a wood burning fire. The living room has two large sofas and a television with English freeview channels and a DVD player. The modern kitchen has a dishwasher, range oven, microwave and fridge freezer. Upstairs there are two bedrooms - a spacious double bedroom with a king-size bed, high beamed ceiling and exposed stone work. A second bedroom has a double and a single bed, and room for cots. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and a heated towel rail. The gite has lovely views across the surrounding countryside and a terrace for outside dining. It is also insulated for winter lets and has Wi-Fi access. An on-site laundry room has a washing machine. There is an on-site laundry room with a washing machine. Our swimming pool, open in late July and August, is heated to at least 25 degrees and is surrounded by a decked sun terrace. It's south facing so makes the most of the sunshine. It also has wonderful views across the surrounding countryside. Next to the pool is our indoor games room, with table tennis, a punch bag and fitness equipment. We have a library of books and DVDs and a fancy dress box that is hugely popular with children. Our large lawn is ideal for a game of football or rounders and little ones will love playing on the ride-on toys and exploring the dens. They will also love our treasure hunts. Our petanque pitch is ideally located for the evening sun and our tranquil shady garden is the perfect place to curl up with a book. A short walk away is the charming village of Ploerdut, which has a grocery shop, two bars, and a hugely popular lunchtime restaurant, all set around a pretty church square. The village square also hosts a small Friday evening market selling local produce, including bread baked in the old village bread oven. The restaurant and bar, Chez Marie Thé, is the focal point of the village, attracting locals and tourists from miles around for its simple but hearty food, which is great value at €12 for three courses and wine. The Lake at Priziac is just a 10-minute drive away. It's perfect for children, with a small sandy beach, play area, picnic tables and a cafe/restaurant in the summer months. It's also a popular spot for kayaking, sailing, fishing and walking. Brittany's largest lake, the Lac de Guerledan is 35 minutes away and has two beaches, play grounds and several great restaurants with lake views. There are several other lakes, with cafes and beaches, within a 20-minute drive from Guebernez. Guebernez is around 40 minutes from the stunning coastline of Morbihan. With a sub-tropical climate, Morbihan is warmer than the rest of Brittany. You'll find a mix of sweeping sandy beaches, rocky coves, inlets, and islands - 42 islands in all. Some are privately owned by the rich and famous, while others can be reached by boat. Boat trips operate throughout the summer. This part of Brittany is perfect for road cycling, with quiet roads (guests are always amazed at the lack of traffic), rolling hills and more challenging climbs if you want them. If you don't want to venture too far from the gites, there are some lovely cycle routes on our doorstep. Cycling is a French passion and this part of the country is well-equipped for the sport, with clear roads for racing and voies vertes (nature trails) for mountain biking, or the Nantes/Brest Canal for more gentle cycling (pictured here). Bring your own bicycle or we can arrange for bike hire.
