Traditional Village house in the heart of the lovely village of auxi le Chateau

Our house is situated in the heart of the lovely village of auxi le Chateau. Shops, restaurants, bars and country walks are right on your doorstep. Our large family home sleeps 6 + 1 baby. It has a large garden with a covered area with barbecue, table and chairs for alfresco dining, come rain or shine. To make your holiday more comfortable the house has a utility room with dishwasher and washing machine and aditional fridge. You will receive a welcome pack on arrival containing a few things to help you settle in. Other essentials are also provided for your convenience such as soap dispensers on Sinks, dishwasher tablets and cleaning utensils. The house has electric heating with wood burning stove in the living room. The kitchen has a dual fuel range cooker, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities, and fridge freezer. The three bedrooms are comprised of a twin, a double and a large king-size room with ensuite. It has two living in areas. The main living room has a television with satellite Channels in english. It also has a CD player with radio tuner and USB. This room also has a large dining suit. Wi-Fi; games consoles and range of books and board games are also available for your use during your holiday. It has free on street parking. Auxi le Château is one of the region's little gems. It is a truly beautiful village, steeped in history and heritage and also ideally located for enjoying all the region has to offer. It is also remarkably easy to access from the UK, being just a short train or ferry ride away, making it perfect for weekend breaks. The lovely Opal Coast beaches are close, as are the historic battlefields that mark out the history of the Pas-de-Calais. Auxi le Château is so pretty and atmospheric that it is often described as looking like a film set. The typically Norman style houses, half-timbered and quaint, climb the hill on which the village is built, leading you through its tranquil, ancient streets and past various historic monuments. Of these, the most significant is the Church of Saint Martin, a 15th century Gothic building displaying many interesting features. Others worth noting include the remains of the castle, a Neo Gothic town hall currently under renovation, grand houses from the 17th and 18th centuries and various watermills. The town stands on the River Authie. Besides the heritage, Auxi le Château has plenty of good shops and also restaurants where you can enjoy trying out the local cuisine. Being so close to England and the port of Calais means that Auxi le Château is very easy to reach. Hope on a ferry or a channel tunnel train, and drive the rest of the way finding the town from the A16 auto route. Alternative ferry ports include Boulogne and Dieppe. If air travel is preferable for you, Paris Beauvais is the place to head for, with Ryanair providing cheap and quick services. Le Touquet also has an airport, with flights operated by LyddAir.
