Set over two levels with plenty of off street-parking, this stunning one-bedroom, one-bathroom home with tranquil bush surrounds gives you all the living space of a three- bedroom home but is custom made for couples. A light-filled, vaulted living area offers many options for relaxation. This welcoming and cosy space adjoins the well-stocked kitchen that could inspire any chef. Curl up on the couch with Netflix in front of the open fire in winter. Open the bi-fold doors to the bush views in summer while stretching out on the window seat to soak in the ambience of the surrounding area - quality time for two awaits. A beautifully renovated bathroom, complete with separate shower and elegant bath, is also located on this floor together with a separate washing machine and dryer. Upstairs, the master bedroom retreat beckons with its fabulous lounge area overlooking the main living area below. Sitting in what feels like a glass tree house, one may find the inspiration to write or paint in this place of stillness and quiet reflection. A work station is also located here. Open the upstairs balcony doors to enjoy the sun and listen to the birdsong of the local native tuis. On a clear night, the room is illuminated with moonlight through the roof skylight. This area then flows through to the serene master bedroom with queen bed, complete with an electric blanket for those cold winter evenings, and views to the bush and the sunrises that paint the sky with pinks and oranges. There are many beautiful bush walks in this area as well as the locals’ café at Rocky Bay Hall just five minutes down the road which is open on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Whakanewha Regional Park is a 15-minute walk through lush native bush and is perfect for picnics, watching the shore birds and enjoying the tidal flows. This is a lovely beach to swim at during high tide. There are no shops at Omiha/Rocky Bay however the closest supermarket is a five-minute drive and there are regular buses. Atahu Cottage is not suitable for toddlers, however it is baby friendly and portacots can be rented. PLEASE NOTE: An exit cleaning fee applies to each stay. All linen and towels are supplied but please bring your own beach towels.
