La Caussade

Welcome to Château Prieuré la Caussade.  A luxury château & boutique vineyard perched on the hill of St. Pey de Castets. The château which dates between the XII and XVII centuries sleeps sixteen comfortably. It has a salt water swimming pool, full size tennis court, large outdoor entertaining areas, XIX century gardens, an orchard, woodlands and nearly three hectares of vines. The Château has just undergone a complete restauration, completed in 2017.  Only 15mins from St. Emilion & 50mins from Bordeaux, the area is perfect to explore this famous wine growing region & its fabulous restaurants and scenery. We have a daily cleaning service, bi-weekly bed linen and towel changes included in the price. We also have a full concierge service available to pamper guests. Please see below for details. The space A beautiful recently restored Château which combines the elegance of by-gone eras with modern luxury living. The spaces consist of ancient stone walls, oak beams, fireplaces, original floors and features such as the stunning stone spiral staircase united with all the comforts of modern luxury living. Guest access The whole of the château is available to guests, including the pool, tennis court, large terraces, gardens, orchard, woodlands & 2.6HA of vines. Interaction with guests We have a daily cleaning service, bi-weekly bed linen and towel changes included in the price. We also have a full concierge service available to pamper guests. The neighborhood The château is only 15 mins from the hub of St. Emilion, 50 mins from Bordeaux and 25 mins from Libourne. It's secluded grounds offer complete privacy and space for you to do as you please. Relax by the pool, hit a tennis ball around, read a book listening to the birds, indulge in a glass or two of Bordeaux's finest or host an extravagant diner. The decision and the pleasure is all yours. If your feeling more adventurous, only a few minutes down the road is the stunning Dordogne river, where you can walk or ride a bike along the rivers edge or rent a kayak and go exploring the ancient villages and great restaurants scattered along it's banks. The Atlantic Ocean is just over an hours drive, and worthy of a day trip. Explore Cap Ferret, or have a long lunch at the magnificent La Coorniche (reservations a must!) overlooking the bay of Arcachon & the dune of Pyla (Europe's largest sand dune). The surrounding wide sandy surf beaches run all the way down to Spain and all the way up to La Rochelle, so there are also endless possibilities if you are looking for a nice beach break to surf.
