Contemporary Cottage By The River And Hiking Trails. Disability Access
Brossac
In the south of the Charente, in a hilly region and in a valley, the Bégot mill was built at the end of the 18th century on a small river, the nauve de la motte. Restored in its entirety in a refined architectural style combining wood, stone, steel, concrete, lime, glass, the mill is today a habitable building of approximately 700 m2 offering a gîte of 120 m2 and two guest rooms. The 8ha domain consists of a garden, meadows for animals (dogs, ponies, horses, goats and sheep), woods, a river and a pond. The pond allows the practice of swimming in natural water and fishing. Located 40 minutes from Angoulême, 60 minutes from Bordeaux-Mérignac international airport, 45 minutes from Cognac and 1 hour from Saint-Emilion, and a few minutes from the western Dordogne, this location makes it easy to explore all the region north of Bordeaux: the saintonge with its Romanesque churches, the Charente and its many Romanesque churches, remarkable castles and villages, the eastern Bordeaux vineyards, the Bergeracais, and the nearby Dordogne. From the mill, there is a hiking and mountain biking trail. The cottage was designed in part of the old barn adjoining the house and offers substantial volumes with high-end decoration. The owners are lovers of gardens and art.
