Castlebar is the campus of Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. The town is linked by railway to Dublin, Westport and Ballina. Visit pretty towns and coastal villages and discover the culture and music, myths and legends this part of Ireland has to offer. On the resort there are an array of outdoor activities for kids including the Breaffy Buddies Kids Club open during the school holidays, children’s playground, crazy golf, astro turf pitch and a GAA pitch. Our beautiful self-catering holiday apartments in Mayo are a two minute walk from the hotel amenities and facilities. You and your guests can avail of the on-site restaurant, bar or relax and unwind in the sauna, hot tub, and special water therapy features in the fitness centre and spa. Each holiday home is accessed via a communal corridor. The accommodation in each apartment is located on one level. The open plan living, dining room and kitchen area will bright and well equipped providing everything you need for a comfortable self catering holiday with friends or family. There are two bedrooms, a double ensuite with shower over bath and a twin en-suite bedroom with shower. Castlebar is 3 km from the holiday homes and has numerous attractions for the visitor, received international recognition for both walking and angling. The National Museum of Ireland, Country Life is situated in Turlough and is a wonderful exhibition depicting how the people of rural Ireland lived in the hundred years between the Great Famine and the end of the 1950s. It is also centrally located for touring Mayo including Ballintuber Abbey, The Ceide Fields, Achill Island, Westport, Newport and Croagh Patrick. Westport and the Great Western Greenway is 20 km from the resort. The popular greenway is 42 kilometres long and begins in Westport and ends in Achill, passing through the towns of Newport and Mulranny as it runs along the coast of Clew Bay. It is an off-road trail intended for use by cyclists and walkers. Ballina 35 km away is the largest town in County Mayo where there is a selection of great shops, cafes, restaurants and bars plus its well knowen for its annual Salmon Festival. It’s hard not to fall in love with Mayo, with its breath-taking landscapes and rich green countryside.
