The cottage is set in the heart of the Loire National Park close to Chinon. It is well positioned between the Loire and Vienne rivers a short distance from all the major sights and towns in the Loire Valley. Chinon is steeped in conjoined history with Great Britain (Joan of Arc, Henry II Plantagenet, Richard the Lionheart) also the home of Rabelais the French author and visionary. It is here you will find many restaurants and shops to suit all your needs. Set in it's own large, private garden this delightful two bedroom detached tufa house has a separate grange which provides an undercover outdoor sitting/dining area. The house is set over 3 floors, the bathroom on the top floor is complete with a large bath, shower cubicle and a toilet. The bedrooms are on the middle floor, one bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite toilet, the other two singles beds. There is another toilet and shower in the grange which is a building opposite the house these are at ground floor level. The pamment tiled kitchen/dining room has an electric Range oven for those who like to cook indoors, while for those who like to live outdoors there is a BBQ under the grange which is set up like a dinning room. Through the door from the kitchen is the snug sitting room where you will find the TV and a wood burning stove for those cooler evenings. The large garden, set behind your own private gates, provides plenty of room to park your cars. The garden provides many places to sit, sipping local wine and enjoying the peace and quiet. You can loose yourselves here but you are not far from the amenities which are within 4 kms. Staying here at Le Grand Ballet gives you an option of enjoying the peaceful countryside with many walks, getting out on the hired bikes as most of the area is flat. We have bikes for hire week which we can arrange by prior arrangement. We can escort you on a wine buying experience by prior arrangement.
