This pretty turn of the 20th century Piemonte farmhouse, set in several acres of its own land, has just been renovated using traditional materials and features. The interior has been tastefully decorated with some of the original farmhouse furniture and locally sourced furniture from the period the house was built. The atmosphere is warm and cosy. There is a large garden with an outdoor yoga 'Shala'. We offer yoga, a variety of healing treatments and massage sessions on the premises. Please email us for further details and bookings. There are 2 neighbouring houses which are only lived in part of the time, so its extremely tranquil. is You can make as much noise as you like. The house has 6 double bedrooms, 1 with en suite bathroom, 2 with en suite shower rooms and 2 further shower rooms. It will sleep 12 people comfortably. The house has been fully modernized with a large drawing room, a large dining room and a fully fitted modern kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, hob and oven. There is also a larder and utility room with a washing machine. There are lots of books, indoor and outdoor games for children. There are also large covered and open terraces around the house leading to the salt water pool with a barbecue and dining area. The pool is designed with wide steps leading down to the shallow end so children can play and facilitating entry and exit. The house is set in a quiet rural area at the end of a cul de sac, with pretty views in all directions over the Langhe hills. The hamlet of Brichetto, which in Piemontese dialect means "high point", is 10 minutes by car to Cortemilia where there are supermarkets, shops and great restaurants serving delicious local food at very reasonable prices (from £10 a head for 3 courses to £35-£40 a head for the top price). 30 minutes by car takes you to Alba, a pretty medieval town with every type of shop and restaurant and it is an interesting place to visit. It is world famous for its white truffle market in October and gastronomy. 45 minutes by car to the south is Savona and the mediterranean sea with many attractive seaside towns to visit along the Ligurian coast. Genoa airport is about an hour away. Turin is just under 2 hours away and Milan is just over 2 hours away. There are plenty of things to do, such as, walking, truffle hunting, visiting old towns and villages, tasting some of the finest wines in Italy: Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Arneis and some really excellent sparkling wines, motorcycle tours and horse riding. The area is famous for creating the Slow Food Movement, varied gastronomy, for example cheese, salami, chocolate, hazelnuts, truffle flavored dishes and handmade pasta.
