About the property: La Bergerie is situated in the hamlet of Marthe between Dissay-Sous-Courcillon and St Pierre de Cheville and only a 10 minute drive from junction 26 of the A28 autoroute, 39km from Tours airport and 48km from LeMans. It is set on a hill within the 10 acre grounds of the manor house known locally as The Petit Chateau de Marthe (previously owned by the Joffo family, Josef being the famous author of ''Le Sac de Billes“). From the private terrace there are far reaching views down to the valley of the Loir. Access is though electric security gates and parking is completely secure, private and level. The accommodation offers on the ground floor - large kitchen with a gas cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee pod machine, kettle, fridge, well stocked cupboard with cookware, china, glass and cutlery. There is a large open sitting room with fireplace, leather sofa, dining table and 6 chairs. Glazed doors open out on to the private balcony and terrace for you to enjoy drinks and dinner in front of wonderful evening sunsets. Through an impressive hallway with a chandelier is an Italian style shower room with toilet and 2 wash basins. The steep stairs lead up to a landing with toilet and 2 bedrooms, one large that offers double bed, marble top washstand, wash basin, and if required, 2 single beds. The other is a comfortable double room, also with a washbasin. Bedlinen and towels are of fine quality for your comfort and enjoyment. The main feature in summer is a stupendous swimming pool designed by previous owner, famous interior designer Boris Joffo. It is styled in the shape of a ship and called the St Vincent. It has a figurehead shower and decking, perfect for relaxing in the sun. THE POOL IS AVAILABLE IN THE SUMMER JULY _AUGUST) The main chateaux on the Loire are approx. an hour away by car. The local town of Chateau-du-Loir offers a hypermarket, boulangeries, charcuterie, bars, restaurants and a weekly market every Saturday. It is perfect base for touring the Pays de la Loire region.
