Maison de Chêne is a gorgeous barn conversion that is set in rolling countryside. Sleeping a maximum of 10 people (includes 1 double sofa bed) and totally self-contained. It is set over 3 floors of amazing oak timber. There is off road parking immediately outside the gite. Bed linen, towels and all utilities are included in the daily charge. The gite is available all year round with 2 cosy log burners for those cold winter nights. On the ground floor there is an open plan lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen with range cooker. The lounge hosts a large smart satellite TV with blue tooth sound bar for you to play all your favourite tunes. Free Wi-Fi connection and Nintendo Wii. There are double glazed patio doors onto a paved area with table and chairs overlooking the fields of Dompierre les Églises. Ideal for outside dining. There is also a separate snug room if you want to shut yourself away. The stairs lead up to 3 private double bedrooms with sliding doors. Here you will also find the bathroom with roll top bathroom and a large separate shower room. Both rooms have toilets and heated towel rails. Up on the 3rd floor you will find 2 single beds in a large mezzanine area. Please note that there is a very low beam to access this area. Once in the room there is heaps of space. The gite is located just 10 km (12 minutes) from Magnac Laval providing all facilities, supermarket, baker, butcher, post office, bank, café/bars, vets etc. We are in the southern-centre of France at 41 km from Limoges. Popular places to visit nearby include Le-Dorat at 7 km and Bellac at 14 km. The “all year round” airport at Limoges is just 55 km away and train services are available at Le Dorat (17 km). Guest have total access to all areas of the Gîte with hosts Tracey and David living in a separate house a stone's throw away if needed. We are here if guests require any assistance during their stay or knowledge of the surrounding area. As we are based in rural France, a car is recommended if you want to explore the surrounding areas. There is a small fishing lake, picnic and children's play area 5 minutes walk from the Gîte. The Limousin is known for it rolling countryside and plentiful lakes. Lac Mondon with it's fishing, pedalos, restaurant and outdoor pool with waterslide is 15 minutes way. Lac de Saint Pardoux is approximately 30 minutes away and offers a large range of water sports and activities. (Seasonal) Carp fishing can be arranged on request plus hire of tackle available. (Subject to availability) The gite is pet friendly and our Weimaraner Mr Binks loves having pals to stay with their well-behaved owners. Smoking is allowed outside of the gite.
