Rural Gites In The Beautiful 3 Lakes Area Of The Creuse

Comfortably furnished for 3; one double bedroom and one single bedroom; a good sized kitchen/diner and living area with a patio which includes outside table and chairs overlooking the large shared garden. Set in a very tranquil and rural area, one of three gites, with just the English owners who are on hand if required for information and assistance and one retired French neighbour. We are surrounded by fabulous countryside, dotted with lovely French villages and towns with lots of local markets and places to explore and enjoy. The perfect base for house-hunting or for walking, cycling, fishing, photography, painting, reading, playing games. or just sitting and enjoying the garden where over the last year wildlife visitors have included; Deer, Red Squirrels, Hoopee, Golden Oriole, Turtle Doves, Woodpeckers - Green, Black and various spotted, Nightingales, Stone Marten and even hedgehogs. The Creuse is one of the least populated areas of France, has been identified as having the cleanest air in the whole of France, has also been voted in the top ten of the happiest places to live in France and the quiet roads in this area make any outing a pleasure. Fabulous part of France. As this is such a rural location we benefit from no light pollution, providing fabulous night skies. Walk routes, maps and guided walks can be available, please ask for information at the time of booking. We also offer personalised walking holidays and short breaks that can be tailored to your specific requirements and can include lunch stops at a variety of local restaurants providing a unique experience of this beautiful area. Bed linen is included in the price but we are unable to offer towels. Please note that there are wooden stairs to the first floor that are not protected by stairgates. The gites is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems that prevent them from using stairs. A €100 damage/security deposit will be required on arrival. This will be returned to you when the gite has been checked prior to departure. The Local Taxe De Sejour is set at 0.70€ per person per night (children under the age of 18 are exempt). The gite does not have central heating but we can provide a portable heater at extra cost. Please ask for further information if required.
