The Appalachian trail and Stokes State Forest are nearby and there are many excellent waterfalls, hiking/biking/walking trails, and areas for bird watching. The Culver Community Beach is just down the road and there are Life guards on duty 7 days a week from mid-June to Labor Day, plus a Canteen in the Culver Lake Clubhouse cooks up lunch daily for a reasonable price. And if you enjoy golfing, you can play 9 holes of golf at The Robins Nest Golf Club directly across the street from the Culver Lake Clubhouse. Minutes away you will find the Crystal Springs Golf Resort at Black Bear. Farmstead Golf Club in Lafayette. Bear Brook Golf Club in Newton. Hidden Acres Golf Course.
