Gite at Bellefontaine (near Mortain) situated in open view Normandy countryside.

A three bedroom gite 'Berenice' and a two bedroom gite 'Cedia' set in fifteen acres of stunning Normandy countryside with glorious open views at Bellefontaine near Mortain. Each of these single storey gites has a lovely rustic feel, provides comfortable accommodation with modern conveniences, a small fitted kitchen, electric heating, are attractively furnished, and have an open log fire available in each of the sitting / dining rooms. Hardwood patio table and chairs are provided on each veranda to enjoy sitting outside. It's a wonderfully peaceful location, with a TV and DVD player available in each gite. A very peaceful and lovely quiet location! The local town of Mortain is only five minutes drive away, with beautiful waterfalls (the Grand Cascade & the Petite Cascade), the Petite Chappelle with its view-point (Mont St. Michel can be seen on a clear day), rock climbing, lovely walks, an open-air swimming pool in summer, restaurants, cafés, art gallery, supermarkets and shops. Go-Karting is available en-route to Mortain. Many other attractive and historic market towns are also within easy travelling distance in this wonderful area. The key for gite 'Berenice' will be left on the inside of the entrance door in the lock, and this is also the same for gite 'Cedia'. Linen provided on the following beds at a cost of £10 per person staying: one double, two twin beds, and two bunk beds in gite 'Berenice', one double and two bunk beds in gite 'Cedia' Please remember to bring your own towels and tea-towels. There is no Wi-Fi internet at the gite, but there is a good mobile and data signal from a mast in the local area. 'Berenice' and 'Cedia' are non-smoking please. The SatNav location address is: Chemin de l'Eglise, 50520 Bellefontaine, Manche, Normandie-Bas. (off the D33 Route du Moulin in Bellefontaine village). Follow the brown tourist signs towards the 'Village Enchante' when you're in the local area as this will help bring you close to your destination. After you've turned in to Chemin de l'Eglise itself (off the D33 Route du Moulin main road in Bellefontaine) pass the church which should be located on your right hand side and then after about 50 metres turn right into a narrow lane, passing the church on your right hand side first if necessary. Proceed around a left-hand bend and then along here for about 100 metres towards the entrance way directly ahead. Once here turn along right for 'Berenice' which is found 50 metres on the left hand side - it is the third gite up from the end. 'Berenice' has an almost level roadway access, vehicle parking space suitable for two cars, and with a gently sloping pedestrian pathway approach round the side to the front of the gite. For gite 'Cedia' you turn left after the entrance way and proceed down the private road around to the last gite on the left. NOTE: Please avoid parking below gite 'Cedia' because if the grass roadway at the side there becomes wet it is extremely difficult for a car to climb the slope up from below. Also please be careful to avoid getting stuck if it has been raining as it can sometimes get a bit muddy on that part of the road track. The entrance door handles can sometimes be a bit stiff - pushing firmly downwards to open and pulling firmly upward prior to locking is advised please. The key will be left on the inside of the entrance door lock. Please leave the key there on departure at the end of your stay. Electric heaters should also be turned off on your departure please. Gite - Rubbish waste disposal in clear bags only, and Recycling items Our sincere apologies, but we now have to ask you to take your waste rubbish away with you when you leave by 10:00 on your day of departure please. This affects any rubbish in clear bags (or otherwise) that hasn't already been taken to the facility in the village centre by the church during your stay. Unfortunately it is now prohibited for any general waste rubbish to be left before 18:00 each Wednesday evening only at the village centre collection point container, with collection done early Thursday morning. General rubbish waste must be left there only in a clear bag. All Recycling rubbish must also be deposited in the appropriate containers there before you leave and / or on your departure day please. No recyclable items are allowed in the general rubbish waste clear bags. We are very sorry about this, but new notices from the Préfecture de la Manche have been put up at the Bellefontaine village waste facility to inform people of this - with fines applicable for not complying.
