Outside The tiled, in-ground swimming pool measures 10 x 5 metres (depth to 1.4 metres) is entered by solid, tiled steps in one corner and is for the sole use of guests and is completely private to the property. The land extends to 10 acres and includes woodland and riverside walks leading to the banks of the Charente, where guests may fish. Guests typically spend most of their time in the garden entertained by the resident red squirrels and numerous birds. Beyond the garden paths lead down through private woodland to the banks of the Charente. The Local Area Within 5 minutes walk you will find Supermarkets x 2, restaurants x 4, hair and beauty salons, banks, bakers, butchers, delicatessen, pharmacies, photocopying. The surrounding countryside is bright with sunflowers in Summer. The user-powered ferry at Licheres (3 miles) is a local attraction for children and adults, and leads to a woodland walk. Further afield are the beaches of the charming resort of Royan are approximately 1 hour 30 minutes drive, La Rochelle another half an hour. A large water park at Angouleme provides sailing, water skiing and other water sports.
