Karmøy offers a number of attractions such as Åkrasanden, one of Norway’s finest beaches, zoo and golf course at Torvastad. Historic sites that are nearby is Avaldsnes Church and Vikingegården. A visit to Skudeneshavn and Åkraham, which are important parts of the Norwegian fishing history, is recommended. In Skudeneshavn you will find cozy streets and old, white houses from the 19th century. Haugesund city is only a short drive away and it is possible for daytrips to Stavanger.
