Not far from the quiet, country road meandering along the river Doubs is the beautiful, 19th century Villa Delphinus. Located in the charming Burgundian village of Saunieres, the villa finds itself in an enviable position at the doorsteps of the spectacular Jura. With immediate access to world-class wines, beautiful scenery, rich history, and epicurean delights, the visitor need look no further for a complete Burgundian vacation than Villa Delphinus. FRIDAY TO FRIDAY RENTAL FOR THIS PROPERTY. Recently renovated (the doors opened to the public in May 2011), the villa offers six luxurious and spacious bedrooms with six ensuite bathrooms, fitness room, sauna, steam room, cozy living room with fireplace, dining room and fully-equipped kitchen. The integrity of the villa was kept intact (original tiles, floor, ceilings, fireplaces, etc.) with modern conveniences added for comfort. The decor and furnishings reflect a pleasing mix of modern and traditional styles. The kitchen opens directly on the terrace of the swimming pool, which enables the guests convenient access for outside meals. Behind an old-style steel gate is the villa courtyard, decorated with roses and offering enough space to welcome up to six cars. Behind Villa Delphinus is a park-like environment, with a large heated pool (open April 1 - October 31), a spacious furnished terrace, and expansive gardens, replete with a century-old walnut tree. This space offers plenty of room for lounging and relaxing, or, a play area for children. A small house located next to the villa is totally dedicated to guests seeking indoor leisure and wellness. On the first floor, guests will find a fitness room equipped with two types of exercise bikes, rowing machine and weights. There is also a leisure corner with a foosball table and sofas. On the ground floor there is a sauna and a steam bath with a capacity of up to six persons each, and a bathroom with shower and WC. The washing machine and dryer are also located in the leisure house. (An electric fireplace system is the living room fireplace, which will enable you to make the most of evenings around the fire with family or friends, without the trouble to have to carry wood and start the fire. The dining room has an open fire place for which the owners supply wood.) The decor of the living area is informal and comfortable, offset by ornate, original tiles and a decorated \'a la francaise\' ceiling. To ensure evenings full of entertainment, there is a big screen, high definition Satellite TV, a Blu-ray DVD player, and a Playstation 3 with plenty of games. The dining room, with its French-style ceiling, antique tiles and superb fireplace is decorated in a \"hunting villa\" motif. The dining table can seat up to 12 people. The villa kitchen is fully-equipped and includes an oven, a microwave, a stove with four burners plus extractor fan, a dishwasher, a large refrigerator with freezer, an extra small refrigerator, an electric coffee maker, a toaster and, an electric kettle. Also included in the kitchen are utensils, tea towels, an assortment of herbs, spices & condiments, and dishwasher and washing machine products. Two high chairs are available for use. Villa Delphinus features six double bedrooms (with ensuite bathrooms) and a baby bedroom/nursery. One bedroom is on the ground floor, three bedrooms are on the first floor (as well as the baby bedroom), and two bedrooms are on the top floor. Two of the bedrooms are equipped with HD Satellite TV and Blu-ray DVD player. All the bathrooms are stylish and outfitted with comfort in mind. Each has a WC, washbasin, hair dryer, towels, and either a shower or bathtub. Leisure activities available at Villa Delphinus: Swimming pool, board games, HD Satellite TV, Blu-ray DVD players, Playstation 3 with games, Internet, bicycles with two child seats, Boules, table tennis, giant trampoline, soccer area, children\'s playground with swings, and fishing opportunities in the nearby river. A ramp into the river is available just in front of the Villa. It is free of charge, guests are free to use it to unload boats into the river. There is also a \"barn\" next to the Villa where boats can be stored. Villa Delphinus is located just on the \"Doubs\" riverside. 100 meters from the villa guests will find a good size fishing spot. Fishing permits can be bought in the local town of Verdun sur le Doubs at the fishing equipment shop (closed on Monday and Sunday from November to April, and closed on Sunday afternoon only from May to October). This is a great place for carp, pike and cylurus fishing.
