Maison du Peche does not have a pool. Maison du Peche is only available to rent on its own during the winter from 1st January until 8th April 2022 and 5th November until 16th December 2022, it is rented as a whole with Maison de Tilleul during all other dates as Trespontets. 4km to the picturesque village of Allemans du Dropt, sat on the River Dropt, with butchers, boulangerie, canoeing, and a friendly bar and restaurant. There is a 9 hole golf course within a 15-minute drive and many local walks, hikes and lakes for swimming. The historic town of Duras, with the famous Chateau Duras, is just 8km away, where you will also find a selection of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a weekly market on Monday mornings and popular night markets every Thursday in the peak summer months. The very large shared garden, which has a 40 ft Lime tree, is over two acres with well-kept lawns, shrubs, bushes and fruit trees. There is ample seating for relaxing, lazy days and alfresco dining and it is equally good for outdoor games. With plenty of space, you will easily find your own private area. Maison du Peche is surrounded by great eateries; Allemans du Dropt, a cafe bar and a restaurant. Monteton (3.5km) where the views are stunning boast a bohemian jazz bar, a fine dining restaurant and a 12th-century church, from the viewpoint you can see the 13 bell towers of nearby churches across the vista. There are also several places to eat nearby by Monsegur (15km), Duras and Marmande (21km). Bedrooms: Each bedroom is equipped with a hairdryer and fan. Bedroom 1: Spacious bedroom with double bed (140cm x 190cm) and built-in wardrobes. Bedroom 2: Bedroom with twin beds (90cm x 190cm each). Door opening onto the garden. Cleaning / towels / linen: Luxurious Egyptian cotton bed linen and bath towels are provided. A complimentary change of bed linen and bath towels will be provided for stays of 2 weeks or more. Bathroom: Bath with shower over, washbasin and vanity unit. Separate WC. Kitchen: Electric hob with extractor hood, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, Senseo coffee machine and cafetière. Living area: Comfortable and homely open plan living area with circular dining table seating 4, 3 seater sofa and armchair, working fireplace, TV with UK English language Free to view channels, DVD player, DVDs, games and books. Double French doors leading onto patio. (Please note there is not any Wifi in the property) Outside: The 2 acres of gardens are shared with Maison de Tilleul, each has its own private driveway/parking. Lovely covered patio with table and chairs seating 4 with a BBQ. This property does not have a pool. The towns of Monsegur (15km) and Duras (8km) in the region of Aquitaine within the Bordeaux wine region and on the borders of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne, France. Bordeaux city centre is a 100km drive to the west and Bergerac is 40km to the east, Saint Émilion 50km north. - Activities in the area, just a small selection below. Coast, Beach and Water park: A freshwater lake with a sandy beach at Blasimon is just 35km away and is a popular attraction to take children for a day out. The gently shelving sand provides a fun environment for splashing around and cooling off in the heat of the summer sun. Blasimon lake. Aqua Park is 40km located near Bergerac. Beach, canoeing and a water park. Aqua Fun Park near Casteljaloux is 47km. Park with a huge freshwater lake, picnic benches, walks, facilities, man-made sandy beach, water sports, kids play area…. great for adults and kids. Visit Europe’s largest sand dune 148km, the Dune du Pilat where both the climb and the views will take your breath away! Reward yourself by feasting on fresh seafood from the Bay of Arcachon or take the ferry to Cap Ferret and feel the sand between your toes whilst you enjoy oysters and chilled white wine. Chocolate: Yes, we believe chocolate is also an activity… we often have to visit and make sure the quality is up to standard so we can continue to recommend it. Maison Guinguet gourmet chocolate, 8km, just outside Duras, there is a lovely shop that also sells gifts and offers guided visits to their artisan factory in July and August. Duras Castle: The famous Chateau de Duras, 8km, is well worth a visit and if you can muster the energy to climb to the top and see the stunning 360-degree vista. Tea room with gardens: Jardin de Boissona has six little gardens, each with its own character. Outside and inside seating. Especially known for their teas and delicious cakes. 10km, Baleyssagues near Duras. Zip wire adventure and climbing park: Just 15km, Playground and snack bar. Des chênes toi Aventure. - The 2 acres of garden are shared with the gite next door, there is not a boundary between the 2 properties. If you wish you can rent both properties, the other property, has 3 bedrooms and a private pool. This property, Maison du Peche rented on its own does not have a pool. Included in the price: Bed linen and bath towels are provided. A complimentary supply of bed linen and bath towels will be provided for stays of 2 weeks or more. House heating by electric wall heaters. End of stay clean, although the house must be as you found it and left in a reasonable condition on departure.
