This is a very quiet area or countryside - perfect for a total escape from a busy lifestyle - with the added bonus of one of the best microclimates in France! Bellevue Country House is located around 1 kilometer outside the small village of Saulgond in the Eastern corner of the Charente Department of South West France. A very rural and beautiful tranquil position but also benefitting from the proximity of the local Medieval town of Confolens (11 minutes), the market town of Chabanais (13 minutes) and also the large town of St Junien (18 minutes), all three towns are situated on the River Vienne which winds its way through the local area, all three towns having supermarkets, bars and restaurants, the larger of the three towns, St.Junien, benefitting from two large hypermarkets as well as plenty of bars and restaurants, and also having a swimming pool centre with indoor and outdoor pools, steam room and sauna. The large city of Limoges is around 40 minutes drive and the area is also served by Limoges Airport (35 minutes) which has flights with Ryanair from several major local UK airports. Historic Angoulême is around one hour away, and Poitiers which has the virtual reality based theme park "Futuroscope" is also a similar distance from the property. The beautiful coastal, and well known port of La Rochelle is well worth a visit, as is the less well known but equally lovely Royan, and the coastal area to the south of here on the River Gironde Estuary. Bellevue is a large semi-detached property (the adjoining property is a second home and is currently unoccupied). The south facing house benefits from an elevated position which gives guests stunning panoramic views of the surrounding meadows and woodland. At the entrance to the property, a large covered porch gives access to a spacious hallway with the staircase beyond. To the right off the hallway is a good sized dining room with table and 6 chairs, this is accompanied by a large downstairs shower room with twin sinks and a spacious shower cubicle, as well an a WC. To the left off the hallway is a very large and fully equipped kitchen/diner which has its own table and chairs, this room is linked directly to a similar sized living room, with sliding double glazed doors which open onto a large (20sq m) raised terrace with extending sun canopies, the terrace is south facing and benefits from full sunshine all day, and also provides the lovely panoramic views associated with this property. The wide staircase gives access to the first floor where you will find two large double bedrooms, a twin bedded room, and a second bathroom, also with twin sinks and a bath. A separate toilet completes the first floor accommodation. The private garden has a solar heated plunge pool (open June - September) the garden area once again overlooks the magnificent countryside. There is ample room for ball games on a flat grassed area. There is plenty of parking at the property, including spaces in the large barn which is adjacent to the house.
