Limousin, often referred to as La France Profonde, is also known as the Lake District of France and summer is a wonderful time to enjoy the pleasures of some of these lakes. This region, in the centre of France, is a water wonderland with thousands of streams and rivers running throughout the region which feed the lakes with their pure, clear water making for wonderful swimming in the hot days of summer. Saint-Pardoux lake Is a major tourist site in the Haute-Vienne. At the heart of an unspoiled, natural site, this 330-hectare artificial lake is an ideal place for countryside activities whether alone, with friends or family. Lac Pardoux is approximately 25mins from the house. Pictures of lakes included Limoges is around 45 minutes from the house and has lots of interesting things to see. We have included some pictures to give you an idea of what's available during your stay. If you choose to fly, Limoges airport is serviced by numerous airlines and car rental is available. Gite Bouton Rose, is just 45 mins from the airport. We are close to the towns of Bellac, La Souterraine and Magnac Laval, all of which have supermarkets that open till noon on Sunday. The swimming pool is for the sole use of the guests.
