Cosy Double Room in the Normandy Countryside

Welcome to our rural French home situated in a quiet hamlet in the Normandy countryside overlooking a picturesque valley and rolling farm fields. We have available to you a bright and airy yet cosy double bedroom with an adjoining private bathroom complete with a roll top bath. A basic continental breakfast is provided free of charge, but should you wish to have a full English complete with freshly laid eggs from our chickens, you can upgrade for €10 per person per day. The space - Our home is a late 19th century granite built French farm house nestled in a small hamlet outside of the village of Hambye. We have plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy, including a decked area with table and chairs and a hot tub available for your sole use during your stay. On the ground floor, you will have access to a shared living/dining area which has a wood burning stove on during the colder months. There is also access to board games, DVD's and player, TV and a large dining table as well as a good wifi connection from this space. We do offer evening meals upon request (please give 2 days notice) this will consist of a starter, main, dessert and wine for only €25 per person per night. Going upstairs, you will have access to the master bedroom with a comfortable double bed and dressing table as well as storage for your belongings. You will also have private access to the adjoining bathroom complete with a roll top bath. Guest access - We are in a remote area and although accessible by public transport and taxis, we would reccomend having a car. We have a car parking space on site available to guests. Other things to note - Only a few kilometres away, you'll find our local village of Hambye which has friendly bars as well as a boulangerie/patrisserie and we are only half an hour walk away from the beautiful Hambye Abbaye as well as lots of walking trails locally. A little further afield (15 - 30 minute drive) you come across lovely French towns with bars, restaurants, cinemas and gyms. We are happy to give our recommendations. We are only an hour away from many glorious Normandy sites that are not to be missed during your stay. These include Bayeaux, the D-Day beaches, Mont Saint Michel, as well as the abundance of Chateau's and Abbeys in the area, you're sure to keep yourselves busy. Just over an hour away, you can hop over to Brittany and explore Saint Malo or Dinan and the ferry ports of Cherbourg and Caen are only an hour away by car too. We do have friendly, sociable pets, dogs, a cat and chickens therefore we cannot accommodate guests pets. Please let us know if you do not like dogs and we will keep them out of your way for the duration of your stay. We live on site so are available to help and give advise and we have both been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 so we are happy to interact with guests. However, please be aware that we are English and although learning, our French needs a lot of practice. We can also provide you with picnic hampers full of local produce for your trips out, please let us know if its something you'd want. We'd only need a little notice to get this all prepared for you and to save you having to find somewhere for lunch whilst you're out.
