Software and Hardware Tester

Our client VOCA AS is parent company of Optilift AS. This company has signed a groundbreaking contract with Palfinger and Aker BP to jointly develop and deliver the world's first autonomous offshore cranes. These cranes will revolutionize the offshore industry, making unmanned offshore platforms a reality and contributing to improved safety, reduced costs, and lower CO2 emissions. VOCA performs the actual development tasks as a subcontractor and on behalf of Optilift. Being part of a development team employed in VOCA, you will join dedicated professionals working on this project. A development team will consist of skilled engineers from Optilift AS/VOCA throughout the project period. The project is also engaging a far larger number of people within Palfinger and Aker BP.

Job Description:

CrewMate AS is seeking a Software and Hardware Tester to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of products are within the expected quality.

The products are ranging from edge devices operating in harsh environment to cloud based services for remote control and monitoring. The products require both an understanding of the hardware and the software, all being developed by the team you will be working together with.  Your role will be crucial in taking products from development to production readiness by testing both user and backend functionality, documenting procedures for our production team and improving the overall quality of our delivered products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Have a strong understanding of the user and end-product functionality
• Develop and execute test plans and test scripts for software and hardware products.
• Perform functional, performance, and regression testing on edge devices and cloud services.
• Collaborate with developers and hardware engineers to get identify testing requirements and develop comprehensive test strategies.
• Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools; work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Conduct tests on various hardware configurations and operating systems.
• Assist in creating deployment and operational procedures to ensure seamless integration into production environments.
• Evaluate system performance and provide feedback for improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Automation, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Practical experience may make up for lack of formal education.
• Experience in software and hardware testing is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
