NHH in Bergen, Norway, invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor in Auditing at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law. The duration of the contract for the position is four years. We seek ambitious candidates early in their careers who have relevant research experience and teaching capabilities within the field of Auditing. The candidates should have a PhD in Auditing and possess a portfolio of projects with clear potential to be published in top-ranked journals.
To strengthen the research group in Auditing we seek candidates with confirmed competence in qualitative (experiments, surveys, case-studies similar) methods within the behavioral audit domain, preferably within the topics of auditing, digitalisation and/or sustainability. The research group is affiliated with two research centers/projects: Centre for Digital Business and Audit and a research project of digital transformation in a large Norwegian company. Candidates with research experience in the relevant methods and topics will be prioritised.
Faculty members at NHH are expected to be good teachers. NHH offers the opportunity to participate in a programme for university pedagogy, and the appointee must take one basic module of the programme for university pedagogy in the course of the fixed-term period. The appointee is expected to be involved in teaching on an average of one course per year and conduct some student supervision in degree programs at bachelor, master and PhD levels. Candidates must be fluently in English. Formal pedagogical education and/or practical experience with teaching will count positively for the job.
NHH offers
The salary will be negotiable within the Norwegian State Salary Scale for assistant professors. External research grants and teaching in executive programs offer opportunities for supplementing this salary. General information

In the assessment of applicants, experience with teaching and international research cooperation will be given weight. For the sake of gender balance at NHH, female applicants will be given preference in the event of equivalent qualifications among candidates.
Faculty appointments and promotions approved after 1 August 2025 will have Norwegian language requirements, as stated in the national regulations. Assistant professors must document language proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language at minimum A2 level or complete the equivalent of 15 ECTS in Norwegian during the employment period. NHH can also offer courses in Norwegian to assistant professors appointed before 1 August 2025, who may not initially have Norwegian or another Scandinavian language proficiency.
