Exciting PhD Opportunity in AI and Medical Imaging: Collaborate with Stanford University

Are you passionate about revolutionizing cancer diagnosis and treatment through cutting-edge artificial intelligence and medical imaging technologies? Join the SynthiCare Project, an ambitious international research initiative with established collaborations across Norway's leading institutions and Stanford University.

This fully funded 3-year PhD position, financed by Samarbeidsorganet at the Central Norway Regional Health Authority, offers the opportunity to explore advanced methods for generating synthetic MRI data using state-of-the-art AI technologies, including diffusion models, GANs, and VAEs. The project aims to tackle critical challenges in medical imaging and oncology, driving advancements in precision cancer treatment.

Arbeidsoppgåver

Your Role:

  • Develop and train advanced AI models to generate high-fidelity synthetic MRI data.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, oncologists, and AI researchers.
  • Test and validate AI methods to enhance medical image analysis and tumor progression modeling.
  • Disseminate research findings through high-impact publications and international conferences.

Kvalifikasjonar (overskrift)

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious candidate with:

  • A Master’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, biomedical engineering, medical imaging, or a related field.The degree must qualify the candidate for admission to a PhD program at a recognized university or university college.
  • Strong programming skills (Python preferred) and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • A passion for advancing personalized cancer diagnostics and treatment through AI-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and goal-oriented mindset.
