Beautiful early Kirsten doll from the Pleasant Company era!
This Kirsten doll is perfect for (and recommended for) for enthusiasts or collectors of Pleasant Company dolls.
This doll is from the 1989/1990 era of Pleasant Company (now known as American Girl) - and is par of the last batches produced in Germany (at Götz) before Pleasant Company transitioned to the tan-bodied dolls with the release of Felicity in 1991. (The muslin bodies were switched out when Felicity was produced because her colonial dress exposed her collarbone and made the muslin cloth bodies less ideal).
So as you can see, this Kirsten has a white muslin body and flat neck strings, which are clear markers of late '80s to mid-'90s production. She’s in excellent condition and free from the common "silver eye" flaw often seen in older editions of Molly & Kirsten (look up silver eye American girl on Google - you will see what I mean).
Additionally, this doll has factory braids - that I personally took out and put back in (I did not change the factory braid divisions in her hair) - because the elastics from the factory braids had become crusty and disintegrated over time (a great indicator of how pristine she is, but I prefer to get that crap out of her hair!). As I stated - I kept the braid divisions exactly, exactly the same! Anyway, I’m parting with her only because I’ve found "my" Kirsten via another collector :) and am ready to let this one go.
If you’re interested in other dolls, feel free to reach out—I’ve been a long-time collector and am slowly receiving more of my collection as I’ve recently relocated. I definitely have a white body Samantha and a Molly (same era, but a first edition of the beige doll). As well as Josefina & Felicity.
