Arbeidsoppgaver

1. Kitchen Management & Leadership

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow.

  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to all standards and procedures.

  • Maintain a positive and efficient working environment while enforcing discipline and work ethic.

  • Lead by example, demonstrating excellent cooking techniques and organizational skills.

  • Ensure kitchen staff are following safety regulations and sanitation protocols.

  • Fill in for the Executive Chef in their absence, taking charge of the kitchen.

2. Menu Development & Execution

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new menu items, ensuring creativity and innovation in dishes.

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Ensure timely and efficient food preparation for large events, banquets, and catered services.

  • Assist in creating seasonal or themed menus based on available ingredients and client preferences.

3. Food Quality Control

  • Ensure that all food items are prepared to specification, in a timely manner, and at the highest level of quality.

  • Inspect food for freshness, cleanliness, and quality control before it reaches the customer.

  • Implement a system of food tasting, adjusting seasonings, presentation, and portions to meet client needs.

  • Regularly check kitchen equipment and utensils for safety, cleanliness, and functionality.

4. Inventory & Supply Management

  • Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, ensuring that stock levels are maintained.

  • Place orders for ingredients and supplies in collaboration with the Executive Chef, staying within budget.

  • Receive deliveries, verify quality, and store ingredients properly to maintain freshness.

  • Ensure the kitchen adheres to food safety and storage standards, minimizing waste and spoilage.

5. Catering Event Coordination

  • Oversee the execution of food service at events, ensuring all dishes are served promptly and meet the client's specifications.

  • Supervise large-scale food production for banquets, corporate events, and other catering functions.

  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during events, ensuring a seamless service and customer satisfaction.

6. Staff Scheduling & Management

  • Assist in creating staff schedules, ensuring sufficient coverage for peak periods and events.

  • Delegate tasks effectively to kitchen staff, monitoring progress and providing assistance when needed.

  • Handle disciplinary actions and provide feedback to improve the performance of kitchen personnel.

7. Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure the kitchen maintains compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Supervise the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring staff are following proper sanitation practices.

  • Ensure kitchen equipment is regularly cleaned and properly maintained.

  • Conduct regular checks to ensure food safety standards are met, including food temperature monitoring.

8. Innovation & Creativity

  • Stay updated on industry trends, new cooking techniques, and seasonal ingredients.

  • Introduce creative elements to the menu, ensuring variety and culinary appeal.

  • Experiment with new dishes or presentation styles for special events and seasonal promotions.
