Are you our new Tech Writer? We're seeking a Tech Writer to join our forward-leaning and ambitious product team, playing a pivotal role in driving our growth and delivery. We're in an important moment in our scale-up journey where consistent, reliable, and easy-to-access product documentation is critical to our growth, built in a way that matches the expectations of modern users. 

As our tech writer, you'll play a crucial role in not only meeting the needs of our current customers, but also driving CatalystOne’s growth into the future. Leverage your skills, knowledge, and creativity to craft a brand-new documentation resource from the ground up. What you will do as a Tech Writer 

Your key projects and responsibilities will include:

• Produce new product documentation for our monthly releases
• Create a new structure for documentation
• Separate documentation from onboarding material in the existing Administration Guide of the Customer Portal
• Maintain and update documentation on a rolling basis
• Provide release communications support

The Tech Writer's role is a balanced mix of operational and strategic tasks.

On the operational side, you'll focus on creating new documentation for our monthly feature updates. This involves collaborating closely with project managers and drafting content as soon as feature details become clear. Since we follow a triple diamond development process, this work is ongoing and evolves alongside our product.

Strategic tasks will focus on enhancing the tools and processes that support high-quality documentation. Early projects may include:

• Conducting a full audit of our Administration Guide
• Designing a more intuitive structure for project documentation
• Developing a 12-month plan to separate documentation from onboarding (Academy) content
• Establishing a streamlined process for creating new documentation
  
  

What we are looking for

We're seeking a person with demonstrated expertise in three key areas:

• Pedagogy: The ability to break down complex concepts into core components, guiding the reader to independently master new features
• Writing: Strong skills in conveying instructional content clearly, concisely, and in an approachable manner
• Content Architecture: A knack for organizing information in an intuitive way, minimizing distractions for the user

Ideally, you'll have 1-3 years of tech writing experience, with at least one year under your belt. You'll need to hit the ground running, so being a fast learner and confident in asking the right questions is essential.

Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and corporate wikis is a must. Bonus points for experience with Markdown or any coding languages.
