Job Summary

NAVTOR are recruiting a Regional Sales Manager for primarily Germany, however, with other Regional areas of focus, to be agreed.

Working as a key member of the Sales Team the individual will be responsible for securing new revenue streams and geographical territories by promoting the full range of NAVTOR products and services

The role will involve contacting potential buyers with the view to promoting and presenting NAVTOR products and portfolio arranging new customer visits.

The incumbent will be the first point of contact for any customers’ enquiries or potential sale leads passed from other areas of the business.

He/she will seek to continuously manage the customer experience and service provision to fulfil SLAs, performance and profitable revenue targets determined by the business.

Core Accountabilities

  • Responsible for NAVTOR commercial and sales activities for existing and new business development.  This to be under a defined sales area and client list within Germany, also to have responsibility for additional sales areas; to be decided.

  • Plan and execute strategic sales activities to achieve growth and hit targets

  • Expand customer base and maintain strong presence through long-lasting relationships

  • Present sales forecasts, perform market analysis, and stay updated on industry regulations

  • Provide presentations, product demonstrations and general support to prospective customers

  • Identifying through local research or existing data base information any new business and following up these leads;

  • To contribute as a key team member to the wider Germany and global NAVTOR sales team.

  • Prospecting new clients by various channels including but not limited to cold calling

  • Key Account management, maintain and grow existing business accounts

  • Technical advice and support for the installation of products and services to the vessels

  • Keep effective records of meetings, deals and client contact, primarily within NAVTOR’s CRM system.

  • Keep close co-operation with NAVTOR’s global Technical Support and Customer Service teams, in order to ensure customer satisfaction, of products and services supplied.

  • Regular reporting to the Country Managing Director

Qualifications

  • A Higher-Level qualification such as BTEC, HND or HNC in Maritime studies/Business Administration/Business, Management.

Experience and Skills

  • More than 5 years’ experience in sales or related commercial tasks

  • Technical sales of e-Navigation products and supporting evidence

  • Demonstrable track record in building revenue streams and in negotiating effective margin sales

  • Working experience in shipping, digital chart distribution or related industries

  • Independent person that takes the initiative on assigned roles, but also works well within a team (interdependent)

  • Highly computer literate with an aptitude for learning new systems

  • Bi-lingual (Fluent German & English as a minimum)

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • To adapt quickly and learn the company specific terminology, processes and systems
