The Hybrid Technology Hub (HTH) Centre of Excellence at Oslo University Hospital and the University of Oslo, Norway, is seeking a Resarcher for a 1-year, full-time position to contribute to the development of an in vitro liver sinusoid model.
The Centre, led by Prof. Stefan Krauss, is based at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Oslo, and specializes in the development of innovative human 3D models for biomedical research https://www.med.uio.no/hth/english/
We are looking for a motivated researcher to join our interdisciplinary team, working on both the development and testing of the liver sinusoid model.
Key tasks:
- Contribute to the design, development, and optimization of a liver sinusoid organoid model.
- Conduct in vitro experiments and analyse results.
- Collaborate with experts from various disciplines, including bioengineering and cell biology.
- Document findings, prepare reports, and contribute to scientific publications.
- Data analysis and scientific writing.
- Project management.
- Supervision of bachelor, master and PhD students.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in cell biology or related fields.
- Minimum 1-year relevant lab work experience after PhD graduation.
- Documented expertise in handling and differentiation of mammalian stem cells (PSC, iPSC).
- Experience with 3D cell culture.
- Experience with cell fractionation and organelle isolation.
- Experience with standard molecular biology techniques including analysis of gene expression (qPCR, RNAseq), protein (proteomics, ELISA, WB) as well as lipid and cholesterol analysis.
- Experience with flow cytometry.
- Experience with liver organoid models (perfusion, structure, function, disease) is an advantage.
- Experience with isolation of primary hepatocytes from biopsies is an advantage.
- Experience with basic automation systems (imaging, pipetting) is an advantage.
- Experience with advanced microscopy and image analysis.
- Project management experience.
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills (English).

- Fluent in both spoken and written English
